amtrak, amy, and another year older...

About every three weeks or so Jenn comes home for her acupuncture appointments. She takes Amtrak out of Grand Central Station in Chicago, and enjoys chatting with folks and taking their photographs. Some people thought she was a professional photographer for Amtrak. She said, "Well, not for Amtrak, but I am professional." College tuition has paid off...she now has a profession. But would like to become a road-tripper and see the world. I guess now's the time to do it.

These weekends fly by way too quickly. Our time together on Saturday was crammed full of errands to run and appointments to keep. It was stressful dealing with the reality of how stressed out we felt. Our constant awareness of the stress led to more stress as we knew our time together was precious, and we really wanted to chill and just enjoy the day. So we stressfully worked at diffusing our stress. The highlight was having lunch with Amy at the Oasis in Iowa City!

Since Zach turns superly sweet sixteen on Monday, Jenn wanted to have a pre-celebration while she was here.

She planned a meal - sushi, kale, japanese rice and chicken veggie stirfry. Jenn also baked and decorated a cake in the shape of a semi. She was unable to check-out a car shaped cake pan at the library, so a semi truck it was.

Happy Birthday, my last baby.
